About me…

I started playing soccer with five years at school in my neighborhood, but it was not until 7 that i changed to play 11v11. Badalona was my first team, I was three years playing there before my uncle advised my father to swap it for San Gabriel , according to ” had many exits ” , and it did , even though I cried and cried traying to stay close to my friends.
San Gabriel is a subsidiary of the Barcelona FC , and that helped after a good season and with 17 years ,i had the chance to have a trial and make come true any child dream, play for FC Barcelona.
I went there for four seasons between youth and Barcelona B , getting a under 18 cup and a Spain Super Cup in the same category, a promotion from division B to dicision A with of JM Gonzalvoas a coach and a team of future international stars like Xavi, Puyol and Gabri as main components of the next Barça.
I moved to my first team in the Premiership , Real Valladolid, where despite not having played to much, I learned and I grew and lernt very fast of what professional football was. That same season I went on loan to Toledo and then to Tenerife, where I meet Rafa Benitez and Pako Ayestarán ,and with them i puted myself on the table of Spanish football, scoring 16 goals and ascending to first division, on a second division of fear, with big teams like Sevilla , Betis and Atletico Madrid.
Thanks to this season, Valladolid returns to be my house and after an excellent tournament , Barcelona exercises its option and start the preseason at Barça , with an eye on the capital, which would be my next destination.
In 2002 signed by Atletico Madrid, making a great campaign and having players like F.Torre , Demetrio Albertinni or Sergi Barjuan, as some of my team-mates .
Once again I fall in Barcelona hands, but this time is different , is to stay as first team player and be part of what was a new era for the club. Ronaldinho , Luis Enrique and many homegrown players , the team took second place in the championship, but the revolution would continue , Eto , Giouly , Deco and a young Messi, make our Asian tour is a stunning success and at that point i receive the call from my ” football´s godfather” Rafa Benitez, takes little to convince me to accept the offer to play in Liverpool , one of the greatest teams in the history of football.
Once there and with fear of the unknown , four Spaniards , Xabi Alonso, Josemi , Antonio Núñez and I, soon got to have our own song be heard in every corner of Anfield and even today still sing . I am filled with deep emotion.
The best three years of my career , one Champions League as the main point and a World Cup with the Spanish team, did all the dreams i had had since age 5.
In 2008 and after losing our second Champions League final in Athens , sign back to Atletico Madrid coinciding again with world-class players like Simao, Forlan and Kun Aguero.
In 2009 some injuries do not allow me to give as much as I wished to Racing Santander , but Panathinaikos in Athens, returns me the opportunity to experience amazing nights of Champions League .
In 2011 a proposal of Puebla FC in Mexico makes me get my bags and take the trek to Mexican lands , meeting there with an attractive and intense football, where bring me back to score goals again and enjoy. Thanks to a good season, one of the most important clubs in Mexico is interested in me and decided to accept the challenge and traveled to Mexico City to sign for Pumas UNAM …
I lived football with passion , I’ve laughed and enjoyed glorious moments , but I also cried of pain and rage, I have endeavored to overcome some very difficult tests … i don´t know what holds for me tomorrow , what I know is that each of the steps , of sacrifice , of travel, many times alone and away from people who i love is worth it.
It’s not an easy road, but if you have a dream, fight and work, works very hard for it, because only the work, perseverance and discipline will make you get as far as desired.

Acerca de mi…

Empecé a jugar a fútbol con 5 años en el colegio de mi barrio, pero no fue hasta los 7 que cambie el fútbol sala por el grande. Badalona fue mi primer equipo,  estuve 3 años antes de que mi tío aconsejara a mi padre cambiarme al San Gabriel, según el “tenía muchas salidas”, y así sucedió, a pesar de que yo lloré y lloré para que no me alejasen de los que eran mis amigos.
San Gabriel es una escuela de Fútbol filial del Barcelona, y eso ayudo a que después de una buena temporada ya con 17 años , me llevasen a probar durante una semana y consiguiese entrar en lo que era el sueño de cualquier niño , jugar en el FC Barcelona.
Pase allí cuatro temporadas entre juvenil y Barcelona B, consiguiendo una copa del rey de juveniles, una Supercopa de España de la misma categoría y un ascenso de Segunda B a Segunda A, de la mamo de J.M. Gonzalvo y de un equipo de futuras figuras a nivel internacional, Xavi, Puyol y Gabri como principales estrellas de un futuro Barça.
Emigré a mi primer equipo en Primera división, El Real Valladolid, donde a pesar de no contar con minutos aprendí y maduré a marchas forzadas,  lo que es el fútbol a nivel profesional. Esa misma temporada fui cedido al Toledo y posteriormente al Tenerife, donde conseguí de la mano de Rafa Benítez y Pako Ayestarán, hacerme con un hueco en el fútbol español, marcando 16 goles  y ascendiendo a primera, en una segunda división de miedo, con grandes equipos como Sevilla, Betis o Atlético de Madrid.
Gracias a esa temporada, Valladolid vuelve a ser mi casa y después de un excelente torneo, Barcelona ejerce su opción de compra y empiezo la pretemporada en Can Barça , con un ojo en la capital, que seria mi próximo destino.
En 2002 firmo por el Atlético de Madrid, haciendo una gran campaña y teniendo a jugadores como F.Torres, Sergi Barjuan o Demetrio Albertinni , como  algunos de mis compañeros de vestuario.
Una vez más vuelvo a caer en Barcelona, pero esta vez es diferente, es para quedarme como jugador del primero equipo y formar parte de lo que fue una nueva etapa para el club. Ronaldhino, Luis Enrique  y muchos canteranos, llevamos al equipo a la segunda posición del campeonato, pero la revolución seguiría, Eto, Giouly, Deco y un jovencito Messi, hacen que nuestra gira por Asia sea un impresionante éxito y es entonces cuando recibo la llamada de mi “padre futbolístico” Rafa Benítez, tarda poco en convencerme que acepte la oferta de jugar en Liverpool, uno de los equipos mas grandes de la historia del fútbol.
Una vez allí y con miedo a lo desconocido, cuatro españoles, Xabi Alonso, Josemi, Antonio Núñez  y yo, conseguimos en poco tiempo tener nuestra propia canción, escuchándose en cada esquina de Anfield y que aun a día de hoy siguen cantando. Me llena de una profunda emoción.
Los mejores 3 años de mi carrera, una Champions League como punto principal, y un Mundial de Alemania con la selección Española, hicieron realidad todos los sueños que había tenido desde los 5 años.
En 2008 y después de perder nuestra segunda final de Champions en Atenas, vuelvo a firmar por el Atlético de Madrid coincidiendo nuevamente con futbolistas de talla mundial como Simao, Forlán o el Kun Agüero.
En 2009 algunas lesiones no me permiten dar tanto como hubiese querido al Racing de Santander, pero Panathinaikos en Atenas, me devuelve la oportunidad de vivir increíbles noches de Champions.
En 2011 una propuesta del Puebla FC de México hace que tome las maletas y emigre a tierras Mexicanas, encontrándome con un fútbol atractivo y muy intenso, donde vuelvo a disfrutar y a marcar goles.  Gracias a una buena temporada, uno de los clubs mas importantes de México se interesa por mi y decido aceptar el reto viajando al Distrito Federal para firmar por Pumas de la UNAM…
He vivido el fútbol con Pasión, he reído y disfrutado de momentos gloriosos, pero también he llorado y me he esforzado en superar algunas pruebas muy difíciles… No se que me deparará el mañana, lo que sé, es que cada uno de los pasos dados, de los sacrificios, de los viajes, de tantos momentos solo y lejos de las personas que amo han merecido la pena¡¡¡
No es un camino fácil, pero si tienes un sueño lucha y trabaja, trabaja muy duro por el, por que solo el trabajo, la constancia y la disciplina harán que llegues tan lejos como deseas¡¡¡¡
